Jim Shore's artistry and design for the Heartwood Creek collection has earned accolades from the gift industry. The National Association of Limited Edition Dealers (NALED) has named Jim Shore Artist of the Year in 2004, 2005 and 2006. His Heartwood Creek Nativity Angel took top honors as Collectible of the Year and Decorative Collectible of the Year in 2005.
Jim Shore creates his popular works of art based on his deep appreciation of handcrafted quilt and folk art textures, and by drawing on his nostalgic childhood memories. A self- taught artist from South Carolina, Jim Shore utilizes his skills as a portraitist, sculptor and folk artist to create his unique and creative collection for Enesco. Jim Shore is also a master at silver and gold-smithing, wood carving, stained glass, furniture making and sculpting in stone. He has created portraits for the governments of both North and South Carolina. He is an active member of the Yorkville Artist Guild.
